Large corporation fails to maintain parking lot Our client was a subcontractor at a major power manufacturing plant. The plant only provided the subcontractors a field/lot to park their vehicles. The manufacturer attempted to prepare the lot with crushed stone so that it could be used as a parking lot. The lot became so hazardous through the freezing and melting process, with additional salting, that it was nicknamed "pot-hole alley." While leaving the plant after his shift our client had to cross the hazardous parking lot. In doing so he stepped into a deep and snow covered rut causing his ankle to fracture. Our client required immediate emergency surgery to repair the ankle. over time, and due to the change in his walking style, the client developed severe arthritis in his hip. The hip will require future replacement with an artificial hip. |back|
