Frank L. Gallucci III
Frank L. Gallucci III, principal of Plevin & Gallucci Company, L.P.A., is a nationally recognized trial lawyer based in Cleveland, Ohio.
Frank learned about law at an early age from his father, attorney Frank L. Gallucci, Jr. When his father passed away at the age of 51, Frank took over leadership of his solo practice at the age of 20 and began growing the firm into a renowned plaintiff injury law firm.
Early in his legal career, Frank was part of the trial team for the State of Ohio in the Sam Sheppard case, one of the most sensational trials of the 20th century and the story that gave rise to the movie The Fugitive. As part of the trial team, Frank was involved in helping create legal theories and strategy and handled motion and brief writing during trial, responding daily to the plaintiff’s motions on behalf of the State of Ohio, the defendant in the case.
After several years of successful practice, Frank partnered with his longtime friend and mentor, Leon Plevin, to form Plevin & Gallucci. Now one of the largest plaintiff firms in the state, Plevin & Gallucci has 17 offices across Ohio, including primary offices in Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, and Waverly. In 2019 alone, the firm won hundreds of millions of dollars in judgments and settlements for plaintiffs and has a fast-growing, statewide and national client base. Primary practice areas include wrongful death, personal injury, medical negligence, class action, mass tort, industrial injuries, and product liability.
Frank served as co-lead counsel for plaintiff Cuyahoga County, Ohio in the first bellwether trial in the National Opioid Litigation. The lawsuit against opioid distributors, manufacturers, and retail pharmacies involved 45 depositions and production of over 16 million pages of documents. Frank frequently appeared in national media to discuss the case. To date, the plaintiff legal team has secured over $300 million in settlements for Cuyahoga and Summit County and continues to move forward against additional remaining defendants. Frank also represents over 30 hospitals in Ohio and West Virginia and 20 counties and cities from Ohio, New York, and Louisiana in the opioid litigation. He is co-lead for two of the next bellwether plaintiffs in the national opioid litigation.
Frank has earned a national reputation for expertise in wrongful death, industrial accidents, personal injury, product liability, class action, and medical malpractice. He has been named to the list of Super Lawyers® in Ohio multiple times, including the Top 100 in Ohio and Top 50 in Cleveland. He was selected by The National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyers in Ohio and by Crain’s Cleveland Business as one of its 40 Under 40 most successful business and community leaders in Northeast Ohio. He has repeatedly been named one of Ohio’s Leading Lawyers by Inside Business and is a lifetime member in both the Million Dollar and Multimillion Dollar Advocates Forum. WILG, a national organization of workers’ compensation attorneys, named him one of the Top 100 workers’ compensation attorneys in America.
Frank is respected both inside and outside the courtroom. He was President of the Council of Presidents of the American Association for Justice. He is Past President of the Ohio Association for Justice (OAJ), the youngest president in the organization’s history.
In recognition of his leadership in workers’ compensation, Frank has been appointed to the Industrial Commission Nominating Council three times by the Governor of Ohio. He has appeared on numerous radio and television talk shows discussing how Ohio laws affect victims’ rights.
Frank is a member of the Ohio Association for Justice, American Association for Justice, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and Cleveland Association of Trial Attorneys, and a Life Member of the 8th District Judicial Conference. He earned a B.S. degree from Boston College and a Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he was named Alumnus of the Year in 2023 and inducted into the CSU College of Law Hall of Fame in 2024.
Outside of work, Frank enjoys spending time with his family, playing terrible golf, and cooking food that while edible, usually does not look as intended.
